Are you a diabetic patient?
Is your blood sugar not under control?
You are following whatever your doctor told. ie., taking
medicines, tablets, walking ,jogging, yoga,exercises.. etc but even then no
results on it and Sugar lever remains uncontrolled.? Then come let's go.
Basically what is Diabetes?
Every food we intake contains basically *Fat
*Carbohydrate &
*Protein
First the carbs will be digested,converted in to Sugar which
enters the blood.Once it enters ,the blood will utilize the sugar.The hormone
needed for this is called Insulin. Two this occurs here mostly,
The body has sufficient Insulin but it goes inefficient or
Surplus of Insulin so the body can't utilize the Sugar.
If body gets equal amount of Insulin to Sugar what we had then obviously we are perfect.
Hence the sugar level increases and this situation is
called Diabetes. Just increase of carbs leads for Diabetes.
The blood sugar will increase only if there is excess sugar in
diet.
Let us take an analogy:
As we know many are allergic to Sea foods such as
(Fishes,Prawns.etc). They get rashes and itching after eating sea
foods.Obviously the common advice to them is don't eat sea foods which will
result in allergic diseases. Though the disease is in the body already, it will
not express unless we consume the sea food.
Just assume the same here. Blood sugar will increase only if there is sugar in the food.
One more better example which can be related to Insulin secretion
in the body:
If a floor is wet and we use to clean it by that time.
Suppose if the same area is getting wet again & we mop it
again
If it is getting wet third time again in same spot obviously we
will clean.
If this incident reoccurs then we should mop the floor again &
again.
But we need to check why & where the leakage happens? Suppose
we found the pipe line going below the floor starts leaking obviously we must
fix the pipeline. That would be the permanent fix instead of cleaning the floor
repeatedly.
The same situation is happening here too. Basically we are sending
lots of sugar to our body which mixes int he blood and blood sugar increases.To
control this we start medications after undergoing a sugar checkup.(As how we
mopped the floor). Years together the the function of the pancreas slow down
and second stage would be Injecting artificial Insulin directly in to the body
because the secretion of Insulin from Pancreas reduces gradually after a period
of time.
So we must understand the first step of managing diabetes is to
reduce the intake of Sugar.
If we put this question to a diabetic, suddenly the answer would
be ,
1- I don't eat sweets.
2-I don't take sugar in coffee/Tea.
3-I don't eat Fruits without proper advice, etc.,
But the bitter truth is not because of intake of sweets or adding
sugar in Tea/Coffee.
Even many diabetics thinks Eating fruits which tastes in sweet
such as (Banana,sapota, etc)
is causing sugar disease. That't 100% wrong. Just by eating fruits
and mankind can survive 100 years.
The case is bit different here and we must deep root it.
Let's get more in to it.!!
The major causes of diabetes is having Idly,Dosa,Rice,
Chapathi, Pongal, Ravadosa, Upma, etc.,
Unfortunately these are out routine foods and it is very hard to
accept this truth.
There is a common rule for a balance diet, ie ., whatever food we
consume in a day should contain only 50% carbs.This situation applies all part
of southern India who consumes daily as listed on top.
Even the northern part of Indian's consumes Chapathi.Phulka and
Roti etc which are all from Wheat.
This is why Diabetes is so common in India.!!
So we must reduce the sugar in diet as much as possible. Our
routine food such as Rice,Wheat,Raagi,Grains,Millets,Oats these are rich in
sugar. All items we eat regularly are included.
Anything left to eat.? Don't be surprised..!!!
Still we do have known alternate diet and let us follow this.
For Breakfast:
You can have either of the these,
Eggs & Milk / some pulses / A cup of Fruits / A glass of curd
which should have minimal carbs.
For Lunch:
A bowl of vegetables(semi-boiled)/ Greens/ A cup of curd and a spoon
of Rice.
Eat as much as you want.
For Supper:
Varieties of pulses/Legumes/A cup of Mushrooms or Panneer
It is very much possible. You might find it difficult initially
but would soon get used to it.
So no Idly/Dosa or Rice especially in night time.
For non-vegetarians:
Say about a 250gm of Chicken /Mutton/Fish with some fried small
onions, but not with rice.
Eggs can be taken daily.
When people eat NV foods, they actually consume loads of
carbs(Rice or Biriyani or Nan Roti) and use to blame the chicken or mutton what
we had but not the Biriyani 😝.
So we must eat NV items, eat aloe that without mixing carb items.
If we got with this diet plan regularly, there is no way for the
blood sugar to go up I promise.
Cucumber/Carrot/Coconut kernel/Dry fruits/Jaggery/Honey could be
eaten in-between meals. no biscuits,rusks or chips especially.
Use oil or Ghee as needed but don't excess.
Only then we will consume needed amount of Fat & Protein.
The amount of carbs will come down.
For a week or so, you might feel uncomfortable. But soon you will
start feeling great.
"Body will accept it easily if your mind accepts it".
Everyone should realize this fact, especially the wives/mothers/
or who cooks in the house.
Because only then the menu will change. Other wise it will remain
the same as Idly & Rice.
Fact is who have followed this diet have been able to reduce the
insulin level from >100 units to less that 20 units.
Patients who were taking tables with moderate sugar went Neutral
after this Diet.
I have personal experience with my parents too. Promising this
would work.
In common every one can follow this Diet and change their
lifestyle. Let us go Diabetes free...!!
Adding a real incident with this topic. In Iran Government
hospital doctors went on strike for two months and the hospital was run by the
nurses who worked there. Later after the strike the doctors resumed back to
duties.
But interestingly a survey said the mortality rate got decreased
in that two months without doctors.
Concluding that go for some alternate food as mentioned which is
grown and available nearby your locality.
